KEJIA®NKP-DY–U rack pdu according to the IEC standard design can be widely used for power solution of various 19" standard size racks and enclosures as well as nonstandard electric equipment. It is very convenient for installation, and you can firm it using only two screws. It can meet different requirements of optional sockets in the front of panel. You can choose various socket outlets. Power Distribution Unit can be used with the power supply plug input or power cord input on the left. Q4. What’s a PDU?
"PDU" stands for Power Distribution Unit. PDUs are, essentially, industrial-grade power strips used to control and power servers and telecommunications equipment in a data center.
PDUs are available in both AC and DC models to match the power in use for different kinds of applications.
Generally, in a datacenter, there’re too many electrical devices to be plugged to power supply, thus PDUs are required to distribute local power to each device. A PDU turns one power input into many power outputs, usually eight per PDU.
Q5. How many types of PDU do you have?
PDUs (Power Distribution Unit) could be divided into several types acc. to different standards:
1).acc. to mounting methods, can be divided into rack-mounted PDU and floor-mounted PDU;
2).acc. to power capability, can be divided into single phase PDU and 3 phase PDU/three phase PDU;
3).acc. to PDU functions, can be divided into basic PDU, surge protected PDU, smart PDU, or known as intelligent PDU(iPDU), ATS PDU.
Q6. what’s the difference between rack-mounted PDU and floor-mounted PDU?
A floor-mounted PDU provides an important management bridge between a building's primary power and various equipment racks within a data center or network operations center. Each PDU can handle larger amounts of energy than an ordinary power strip/power distribution equipment, and typically provides power to multiple equipment racks.
A rack PDU mounts directly to an equipment rack, so it can control and monitor power to specific servers, switches and other data center devices, and assists in balancing power loads. Rack-mountable PDU is known by several different models acc. to its functions, including basic PDU, surge protected PDU, smart PDU, or known as intelligent PDU(iPDU), ATS PDU.
Q7. What’s the difference between single phase PDU and 3 phase PDU/three phase PDU?
Single phase PDU is generally made with single phase voltage of 120V, 208V, 220V…, current of 10A, 15A, 16A, 20A… while 3 phase voltage of 208V, 380V, 400V, 415V…, current of 16A, 32A, 63A… Nowadays, the typical power required at a rack has increased from 2kW to 12kW and continues upward, and 3 phase PDU becomes more preferential to datacenter managers while managing budget.
Q8. How to determine loads of PDU?
While determining IT electrical device load in watts, including room for future growth, it’s the maximum load that must be supported by a single PDU in a single rack that must be considered, not the total load for the entire data center. To reduce the chance of downtime, do not load the PDU over 80% of maximum, or 40% for redundant configurations. The load refers to apparent power, and is calculated as volts x amps, and is described as volt-amps or VA.
Q9. What’s a basic PDU?
Basic PDU is designed with various outlet types, to provide power distribution for data center equipments. It’s a large power strip with no surge protection, no monitoring or remote access capabilities.
Q10. What’s surge protected PDU?
Surge protected PDU is basic PDU added with surge protection modules, to distribute power to electrical equipments and to protect sensitive electrical devices in data center from surge and lightning damages.
Q11. What’s smart PDU?
Smart PDU, also known as intelligent PDU(iPDU), is upgraded to provide data used for power usage effectiveness calculations. Intelligent PDU shares power well as remote management tools that use Http, Https, TCP/IP, DHCP, UDP, and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) to provide administrators with the ability to adjust and monitor power demands from offsite locations. iPDU includes metered PDU with local total power consumption metering, monitored PDU with remote monitoring on total and per outlet power information from offsite locations, switched PDU can remotely turn on/turn off/reboot electrical loads. RJ11 port is optional for data center environmental monitoring, like temperature, humidity, air flow, etc.
Q12. Under what conditions should ATS PDU be used?
If your equipment has redundant power supplies, you should connect the power supplies to redundant PDUs that are connected to redundant supply circuits and UPS systems in order to provide maximum power availability. If your equipment has a single power supply, consider connecting it to a PDU with a built-in automatic transfer switch (ATS PDU) to provide increased power availability. When input power source A falls and input power source B is valid, the output is automatically transferred to Input B. The output is transferred back to Input A when Input A is valid and steady. This high speed transfer rate ensures that the transfer is transparent to the sensitive equipment. The two power sources are not required to be in phase.

A: Dear users, yes, generally all our products are 2-year warranted. If you have special needs, we could pre-long warranty period accordingly.
